Irene LaValley O’Leary
Obituary
Irene LaValley O’Leary, 83, of Raleigh, NC formerly of Brooklyn, NY and in her later years of White Lake, NY passed away Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022 at her home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Lawrence “Harry” LaValley and Irene Bostonian LaValley.
Mrs. O’Leary spent many years as a bookkeeper in Brooklyn, NY for Braverman Construction and for several paint stores, as well as owning and operating Brite Paint. She later moved to White Lake, NY and was very active with the Lions Club, and after moving to Raleigh, NC continued her passion by serving with the Lions Club in Raleigh. Her love and sense of humor will not only be missed by her family but the many lives she touched.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023 at Leone Funeral Home in Brooklyn, New York followed by the burial at The Green-Wood Cemetery.
Mrs. O’Leary is survived by her children, Michael O’Leary of Raleigh and Christine Merrin & husband Alex of Raleigh; grandson, Conor Merrin of Raleigh; cousin, Kathleen Cianciotto & husband Joe of Garden City, NY; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael O’Leary.
