Mary Wilson Carter

Mary Wilson Carter, 78, of Wake Forest, passed away September 6, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Wake County to the late Berlin Taylor “B.T.” Wilson & Clara Pearce Wilson. Mrs. Carter was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an avid Belk shopper, having spent a lot of time there she was part of their family. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but everyone she called a friend.

Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2017, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Phil Carter; children, Brian W. Carter & wife Debbie of Louisburg and Phyllis C. Martin & husband Mikkey  of Zebulon; grandchildren, Alyssa Martin, Michelle Martin, Bryan Martin & wife Fallon, Christy Martin(Antonio) and Jennifer Griffin & husband Robert,; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Paterson of Henderson and Vicki Carroll & husband Dwight of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Douglas Carter of Youngsville; sister-in-law, Donna Richards of Youngsville; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Wilson and John Davidson “Buddy” Wilson; her sisters, Marie Wright, Florence Hobbs and Louise Macon.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Judy Horton, Susan Lacey, Mike Bohlman, Deborah Kearney, Diane Montiply, Michael & Nesha Levatino and Wilber, Kitty & Nino Yupanqui for the love and care they have shown. They would also like to thank all that visited and expressed their love and support for her.
