Robert Laidlaw Wilson, 76, of Roxbury, NY, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019. He was born in Bovina, NY to the late Robert Laidlaw Wilson and Wanda Velma Fuller Wilson. Mr. Wilson served in the United States Army and after 30 years with the New York State Department of Transportation, he retired as a Foreman.
Bob enjoyed his family, friends, sports, (whether playing, coaching, or as a spectator), country music, hunting, and raising beef cows. Whether he was riding his motorcycle or raising his family, there was one thing you could count on, Bob would do anything for anyone. His presence will not only be missed by his family but, by those he met. Bob’s teasing, great sense of humor, and Fu Manchu mustache will be dearly missed.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Morse Wilson; children, Pamela Iacovelli and husband Joel of Cary, NC, Christine Lakkas and husband George of Raleigh, NC, and Robert Wilson and wife Jennifer of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Jenna, Livia, Ava, Phoenix, Isabella, Robert, Logan, Chloe and Cayden; sister, Susan Gibson of Kingston, NY; brother, Fred Wilson of Glendale, AZ; his beloved dog, Ebony and many extended family and friends. He was preceded by his brother, Billy Gibson; sisters, Marilyn Benitez and Donna D’Anzeri, and stepfather, Clarence Gibson.
A memorial service will be announced/held in Roxbury, NY at a later date.
