Amina A. Muhi

My mother Amina A Muhi died at the age of 84 on May 3, 2023 after a long struggle with advanced vascular dementia. She died at home with her two daughters by her side. Mom was born in Iraq, and she survived many wars that left her anxious, depressed and having anxiety attacks. Lost her youngest brother in the eight years Iraq/Iran war and lost my father at the age of 67 during the first Gulf War in 1991. Upon arrival in the United States in 1992, my mom and the family resided with me and my son in Hawthorne, New Jersey. In December 2023, Mom, and I relocated to Mebane North Carolina to join my sister and her husband.

Mom was loved by everyone, the grandchildren adored her, her family and her friends loved her so much. She will be missed terribly. The most kindhearted, generous and the one with the heart of gold.

She leaves behind two sons, two daughters and her four grandchildren.

Zaid Zahroon, Haifa, Adil & Bushra Zahroon, four grandchildren Omar, Anthony, Nooran and Dalia.

A private burial was held by the family at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Amina Muhi’s honor to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Association.
