Amy Jo Gentry Harrison

Amy Jo Gentry Harrison, 64, of Wake Forest, passed away Sunday morning, April 12, 2026, at WakeMed North.

Amy was born in Wake County on May 4, 1961, to the late Aaron and Lib Hamilton Gentry. She dedicated more than 30 years of faithful service to CP&L/Duke Progress Energy before her retirement. Amy was a devoted and loving wife who cherished her family and friendships deeply. Known for her strong work ethic and generous spirit, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, April 17, 2026, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Amy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ronnie Harrison; brothers, Terry Gentry and wife Pam of Fuquay-Varina, and Donnie Gentry and wife Kim of Wake Forest; sister, Lesia Thomas of Garner; sister-in-law, Sharon Gentry of Wake Forest; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Gentry, and her brother, David Gentry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
