Bernard Warren Kreafle, 90, of Wake Forest, passed away April 3, 2023. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Bernard Charles Kreafle and Mildred Elenor Warren.
Warren was a Korean War veteran. He was a mechanical engineer with BellSouth and AT&T. He lived in Florida for many years before moving to North Carolina in 2008. He loved swimming, floating in his pool chair, boating and camping. He enjoyed doing projects around the house and loved flying his private plane. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed feeling the sun on his face. He was a character and loved to tell stories, particularly stories from his time in the army.
Funeral & visitation services will be held on Monday afternoon, April 10, 2023 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 12:00, the Funeral is at 1:00. Burial will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2023 at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC.
Mr. Kreafle is survived by his children, Donna Lee Williams & husband David of Wake Forest, David Warren Kreafle of Dawsonville, Georgia; Jeffrey Edward Kreafle & wife Juliann of Davidson, North Carolina; Kenneth Charles Kreafle & wife Ilene of Atlanta, GA and Carol Ann Nash & husband Matthew of Chapel Hill; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and long-time friends, Betty & Guil Vogt of Baltimore, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Margaret Kreafle and sister Betty Jane Schwartz.
