Barbara Marie Zino, 72, of Raleigh, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at her home. She was born in Staten Island, New York, on February 4, 1954, to the late Joseph & Magdalen Knauer Zino.
Barbara was a dedicated professional administrator throughout her career. While living in New York, she worked on Wall Street and in banking before relocating to North Carolina, where she worked for IBM for almost 20 years, then on to Qualcomm for many years and later worked with PowerSecure for 2 years before retiring in 2020.
Barbara had a smile for everyone she met, whether in her professional life or among family and friends. Her strong organizational skills carried over into her personal life as she was always the one planning family gatherings and making sure everything anyone could possibly need was packed and ready. At the end of the day, Barbara always had exactly what was needed for everyone.
Barbara was a proud patriot who deeply loved her country, but nothing surpassed the love she had for her twin nephews. Erik and Christian were truly the light of her world.
Ms. Zino is survived by her sister, Donna Zino & husband, Hans Boyesen of Wake Forest; twin nephews, Erik & Christian Boyesen, both of Wake Forest; along with extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org [t2t.org]).
Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, May 15, 2026, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-7400)
