COL John Michael Copeland, US Air Force, Ret., 70, of Wake Forest, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. COL Copeland was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late I.M. Copeland Jr. and Florence Sisk Copeland. After 31 years of serving his country, he retired from the US Air Force with the rank of Colonel. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a great son, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed by everyone.

A memorial service for Mr. Copeland will be held at a later date at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest, NC. Inurnment will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, VA

COL Copeland is survived by his mother, Florence Copeland of Virgina Beach, VA; sister, Clarice West & husband Robert of Virgina Beach, VA; nephew, Matthew West of Virginia Beach, VA; niece, Brittney West of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his father I.M. Copeland Jr.
