Carl Roy Simmons

Carl Roy Simmons, 60, of Franklinton passed away Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2022 at his home. He was born in Waynesboro, Virginia to the late Malcolm Lloyd Simmons and Beatrice Hedrick Simmons on July 17, 1961.

Mr. Simmons was a pipefitter and worked over 22 years with Quate Industrial Services and most recently Environmental Air Systems. As a pipefitter, he left his mark on a number of places but most importantly left a lasting mark on his family.

Carl loved learning new techniques for cooking on his grill. He was always excited to take his family on camping trips to experience the outdoors & nature. His other interests were hunting & fishing. He was a kind-hearted man that would help anyone anytime. Carl will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He will always be in our hearts.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

 Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Lorrie Jackson Simmons; children, Ryan Simmons & wife Amber of Churchville, VA and Hailey Simmons of Virginia; step-children, Nick Nance & wife Gretta of Wake Forest and Christy Nance of Austin, TX; grandchild, Cooper Simmons; step-grandchildren, Ty Handley, Addison Nance, Van Handley and Tenley Nance; siblings, Catherine Arbogast & husband Freddie of Charlottesville, VA, Linda Bryant & husband Steve of Swoope, VA and Joe Simmons & wife Eva of Stanton, VA; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Tucker and a niece, Gina Arbogast.

Memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, as he held this organization close to his heart.
