Charles Edward Walker

Charles Edward Walker, 75, of Youngsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Transitions LifeCare. Born in Radford, Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late Archie Samuel and Virginia Lillie Eckart Walker.

Charles dedicated his working years as a skilled boiler maker, serving at various nuclear plants throughout his career. After retirement, Charles discovered a new passion working alongside his wife, Penny, as they owned and operated Penny & Charles Produce. For over 35 years, they brought fresh produce and different local products to their community, selling at various markets and providing home delivery service. Charles spent countless hours at the Louisburg Market, where he became a familiar and cherished face to customers and fellow vendors alike. His commitment to serving others extended to helping establish the Rolesville Market, demonstrating his generous spirit and dedication to supporting local agriculture.

A celebration for Mr. Walker will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, July 12, 2025 at the home. You are invited to bring a chair, a dish, and a memory to share. 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Penny Walton Walker; children, Charles Ashley Walker & wife Joey of Franklin, VA; Michael Edward Walker & wife Ashley Appomattox, VA, Jason Ryan Walker of Bedford, VA, and Jennifer Marie Cotten of Louisburg; sister, Mary Stevens of Appomattox, VA; brothers, Richard Wingfield & wife Diane of Bedford, VA and William "Billy" Walker & wife Melissa of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Cameron Bell, Sydney Bell, Ethan & Joshua Walker, Jared Moore,  Jonah & Shiloh Walker, Magnolia Walker, and great grand daughter Peyton Bell; extended family and friends.
