Clair Mielke

Clair Mielke, 87, of Wake Forest, formerly of Stuart, Florida, passed away February 8, 2018 at Avendelle at Carlton Pointe surrounded by her family. She was born in Hampden County, Massachusetts to the late Alexander O’Leary and Katherine Sweeney.

Clair became a registered nurse after graduating from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Holyoke, Massachusetts.  She worked as an RN for several years before starting a family. She enjoyed being a stay at home Mom while caring for her three children. She later worked for Wells Fargo Bank after her children were grown. Clair traveled every summer to spend time with her grandchildren. She liked playing cards, board games and had a wonderful sense of humor. Clair will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 o’clock, Friday afternoon, March 2, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 SE 10th St, Stuart, FL 34996. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.

Mrs. Mielke is survived by her children, John Mielke, Jr., Kathleen LaBarge & husband Thomas and Sandra LaBarge & husband Jeff; grandchildren, Kurt, Brett, Krista, Drew, Katie, Christopher, Steven and Scott; six great-grandchildren; brother, Edward O’Leary; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Mielke to whom she was married to for 52 years and sisters, Eleanor and Rosemary.
