Clara Barham Horton

Clara Barham Horton, 81, of Wake Forest, passed peacefully from this life on September 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 29, 1942 to the late Linwood W.  and Louise Bartholomew Barham and enjoyed her childhood years in The Falls Community. She graduated from Millbrook High School in 1960 and married Everett Wilson Horton, the love of her life. Together they lived life to the fullest for 63 years. We remember the immense love Clara felt and expressed for her entire family in so many ways. We also remember her appreciation for the beauty of Nature through the gardens she planted. Her compassionate kind ways were always a light in the world and in our lives.

 A graveside service was held at 11 o’clock, September 14, 2023 at the Falls Community Cemetery. Friends visited with the family immediately following the service.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lori Beth Horton of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Naomi Horton of Wake Forest; brother, Linwood E. Barham & wife Barbara of Wake Forest; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Proctor and Haywood Barham.
