Damiano Alessi

Damiano "Dan" Alessi, 80, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday morning, August 12, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on June 28, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, Dan was the son of the late Simone and Rosaria Chilemi Alessi.

Dan was a dedicated businessman and community figure, known for owning and operating 5 Star Bicycles in Port Jefferson and Miller Place, NY before relocating to North Carolina. 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Lorraine Power Alessi; his children, Heidi Marconi and her husband Edmund of Raleigh, Daniel Alessi and his wife Jennifer of Great River, NY, Kenneth Alessi and his wife Marie of Mattituck, NY, and Jenine Alessi of Raleigh; grandchildren: Cassandra Sforza, Nicole Marino, Hannah Marconi, Matthew Alessi, Christopher Alessi, Frankie Alessi, Alex Alessi, Ayden Alessi, Austin Alessi, Vincent Miller, and Isabella Messina; extended family and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jamie Miller; sister, Frances Sheekey; and brother, John Alessi. 

A memorial service to celebrate Dan's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning, August 23, 2024, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC.
