Daniel "Dan" Robert Genty, 71, of Wake Forest, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home. He was born in Denver, Colorado, to the late Joseph "Bob" and Mae Kuhn Genty.
Dan began his career in the beef industry working alongside his father with the family business, Goldstar Beef. He later moved to the Raleigh-Durham area, where he continued his career with Goodmark Foods and ultimately completed his professional journey with ConAgra Foods.
Dan had a love for his Denver Broncos, enjoyed listening to classic rock music, and often joked about playing good golf courses poorly.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patt Genty of Raleigh; children, Eric Genty of Cape Town, South Africa, Kate Genty Reid & husband Mark of Charlotte, and Nick Genty & wife Stephanie of Wake Forest; grandchild, Noah Genty of Wake Forest; sisters, Cathy (Moody) Shiflet, Susie McQueen, Cindy Faustin, Geri Harmony, and Becky Yamaguchi, all of Colorado; cousin, Mike Shunk of Colorado; along with extended family and friends.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date in Colorado.
