Deborah Lee McCandless, 49, of Rolesville, NC, passed away in the arms of her loving husband, Thursday morning, June 11, 2020 at her home. She was born October 19, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Danny and Carole Callahan.
Deborah was the owner/operator and artist at Deborah’s Darlings. She had an artistic gift that she loved to share with others. Deborah lived her life quietly, with passion for God, her family, her friends & her craft. She loved her three children more than anything. They spent many hours together at the ballparks, watching TV, hanging out, and she shared her passion for all things Disney with her daughter. At home, it was hard to not find Deborah being flanked by her favorite little man...her miniature dachshund Snickers. Although she loved trips to the beach and mountains when possible, Disney trumped them all. She often would post or say. “If you need me, I’ll be in my castle”. These words can now be imagined, yet from a place that even the most magical place on earth cannot compare. Deborah is now in the place her Lord has prepared for her.
A private service will be held at Leesville Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC. Burial will be held at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest, NC.
Deborah lives on through her husband of 27 years, Joel McCandless; children, Nick McCandless, Emily McCandless, and Connor McCandless; sisters, Kim Ellison, and Colleen Callahan Shor (Leighton), and brother, Tom Ellison all of Georgia; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Huggins, and mother, Carole Huggins Callahan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research. http://jimmyv.convio.net/goto/Deborah_McCandless
