Donald Robb “Don” Williamson, Sr., 85, of Raleigh, passed away Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Thomas Robb Williamson and Frances MacLean Williamson on July 12, 1940.
Don received his undergraduate degree from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts and later began a career in plastics. He was the owner & operator for over 17 years of Northeast Plastics and Carolina Polymers.
Don was a man of God, a devoted husband for 50 years up until his wife passed away, and a loving father. He served the Lord faithfully throughout his life as a Deacon and Elder in the church, involvement at Raleigh Dream Center, Operation Christmas Child, and a ministry to the elderly with his wife. He had a personality that could always lift everyone’s spirits with lots of joy and laughter. An avid Boston sports fan, Don had a lifelong love for the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Celtics.
Don is survived by his children, Donald Robb “Don” Williamson, Jr. & wife Janeth Williamson of Spring, TX and Debbie Shelton & husband Pastor Jim Shelton of Raleigh; grandchildren (who lovingly new him as “Papa”), Alysia Williamson of Cummings, GA, Cruz Williamson of Tulsa, OK, Kayla Shelton of Sanford, FL, Robbie Shelton & wife Grace of Wendell, and Rachel Smith & husband Parker of Wake Forest; great-grandchild Reese Olivia Shelton, daughter of Robbie & Grace Shelton; and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gerri Marie Lanza Williamson.
NOTE TIME CHANGE: A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 7 o’clock, Friday evening, January 30th, 2026, at Cross Assembly Church, 2660 Yonkers Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604.
