Doug Price

Floyd Douglas “Doug” Price, 74, of Wendell, passed away, Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home. He was born in Franklin County to the late James Paul Price and Lizzie Denton Price.

After returning from the United States Air Force, Doug returned home. He was a simple man who never desired material items. He was a natural caregiver, especially to his mother Lizzie. Doug was well known throughout the community. He walked multiple times of the day often equivalent to 5 plus miles per day. The Church became his home away from home, where he often had the opportunity to care for others. Although he never married nor had the opportunity to be a father, he did give himself to others as a father or husband would.

A graveside service will be held at 10 o’clock, Wednesday morning, July 14, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family following the graveside service.

Mr. Price was survived by his brother, Foster Price, and wife Rhonda of Raleigh; a sister Lois Boyette of Raleigh; extended family, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete Price and Russell Price, and a sister Shirley Price.
