Frances Driver Burnette

Frances Driver Burnette, 88, of Raleigh, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her home. She was born in Franklin County to the late Luther Archimond Driver and Mary Odell Stallings Driver on September 12, 1932.

Mrs. Burnette was a wonderful example of a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As a natural caretaker, her happiest moments were spent with her family whether it was helping them with life or cooking delicious meals for them. She was retired from Westinghouse after 35 years of service. After retirement, she was able to focus more of her time on church activities. She and her husband were charter members of Friendship Baptist Church where they held different roles and touched many lives throughout the years. Her love, wisdom and caring heart will be greatly missed.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church, 5510 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church and burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park. Due to COVID-19, face coverings and social distancing are requested by the family.

Mrs. Burnette is survived by her husband of 70 years, Earl Lynn Burnette, Sr.; children, Priscilla Burnette Summerlin of Raleigh, Earl Lynn Burnette, Jr. & wife Susan of Wake Forest and Tomiko Burnette Lewark & husband Ken of Wendell; grandchildren, Jeremy Summerlin of Holly Springs, Landon Summerlin & wife Danielle of Murrells Inlet, SC and Alyson Burnette of Wake Forest; great-grandchildren, Clark Summerlin and Cameron Summerlin; brother, Archimond Driver & wife Erma of Louisburg; many nieces nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her two brothers.
