Gay Snider Lamar, 82, of Youngsville, formerly of Greensboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Louisburg Healthcare & Rehabilitation. She was born in Greensboro, Guilford County on January 23, 1943, to the late Dolon and Sue Stout Snider.
Gay found great joy in the simple beauty of nature. She loved working in her garden, admiring her beautiful flowers, and watching the birds that surrounded her home. Being outdoors and immersed in nature brought her peace and comfort.
Above all else, Gay loved her family. Her children and grandson were her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her son, Chad R. Lamar of Lantana, Florida; her daughter, Kelly Lamar Faas & husband Mike of Wake Forest; her cherished grandson, Aidan Faas; her sister, Kay Martin of Statesville; her brothers, Gary Snider of Jamestown and Michael Snider of Madison, Virginia; along with extended family members and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ernest Middleton “Ernie” Lamar, Jr., and her brother, Larry Snider.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that supports military families. (www.fisherhouse.org)
