George Cecil Speer, III

George Cecil Speer, III, 69, of Wake Forest, NC formerly of Hudson, New York, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at WakeMed Hospital. He was born in Hudson, NY to the late George Cecil Speer, Jr. and Theresa Orbon. George was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked in the construction industry as a master carpenter.

George was a Boy Scouts leader and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He liked watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers.

A service will be held at 11 o’clock, December 23, 2021 at the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.

Mr. Speer is survived by his son, Gerrod Colin Speer & wife Nikki of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren, Colin, Savannah and Emma Speer all of Wake Forest, NC; siblings, Philip Race of IL, Edith Cowan of NY, Jackie Herber of NY, Jeff Speer of NC and Debra Speer of FL; former wife Cherié L. Speer of Stottville, NY; his friend, Walker Daniel “Danny” Stone of Wake Forest; extended family and friends.
