Gerardo Hernandez Rivera, 41, of Raleigh, passed away August 15, 2018 due to complications from being struck by lightning. Gerardo was born in Puerto Rico and has lived in Raleigh for the past eight years. He was a member of Iglesia Cristiana El Alfarero in Knightdale and was a truck driver for Delta Gypsum. Gerardo was a great and humble man, he was always helping others in any way that he could. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, August 21, 2018 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
Gerardo is survived by his wife of 22 years, Damaris Davila-Hernandez; children Gerardo, Geradiel, Gediel and Yarmaris Hernandez all of Raleigh; parents, Yolanda Rivera & Gerardo Hernandez of Puerto Rico; sister, Maria Y. Hernandez of Raleigh; extended family and friends.
