Gertrude Rose Dahlinger

Gertrude Rose Dahlinger, 89, of Wake Forest, formerly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2022 at her daughter’s home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Charles and Helen Beogle Grimm.

Gertrude grew up on Long Island NY and graduated from Baldwin high school in 1951 where she was Cheerleading Captain, Sports night Captain and participated in numerous other sports and activities. Upon graduation, she worked as a Paralegal in New York City and Long Island until meeting the love of her life Jack and moved to Poughkeepsie NY.  While living in Poughkeepsie she enjoyed staying at home and raising her children, Peter and Linda.

 In 1988 Gert and Jack moved to Myrtle Beach where they lived their best lives for the next 33 years.   They loved the beach, their friends and neighbors, floating in their pool and wine time.  Gert was especially close to her sister (Eleanor) who later moved to Myrtle Beach with her husband Lou.   Gert was also passionate about her role as grandmother to her two granddaughters (Melissa & Megan) and loved spending time with them.  Gert most recently moved to Wake Forest North Carolina to be near her daughter and family.

Private services were held at a later date.

Mrs. Dahlinger is survived by her daughter, Linda Guido & husband Patrick of Wake Forest; son, Peter Lampasona & wife Susan of Rhinebeck, NY; granddaughters, Melissa Guido Felts & husband Sam of Raleigh and Megan Guido Tierney & husband Jack of Denver, CO; brother-in-law, Lou Carillo; sister-in-law, Carol Grimm; nieces nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dahlinger; stepson, Jack Dahlinger; sister, Eleanor Carillo and a brother, Charles Grimm.
