Greg Alan Thompson, 58, of Youngsville, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at WakeMed. He was born in Pulaski, VA to the late Hugh Clint Hurst and Josephine Finn Hurst on December 21, 1962. Mr. Thompson was the owner and operator of Thompson Residential Contracting for 15 years. Greg had a special gift of working with his hands, not only did he build houses for a lot of people, he and his wife built a beautiful life together. His presence will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Monica Miller Thompson; son, Nico Thompson of Youngsville and his fiance, Jonathan Nicholson; sisters, Kathy McClelland & husband Tommy of Holly Springs and Patricia Odell & husband Cletus of Pulaski, VA; special friend, Ken Odell of Youngsville; nieces, Jennifer McClelland, Nickie McClelland and Robin Costigan; nephew, Tony Hurst; cousin, Lindsay Argo: a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clint Hurst; sisters, Joyce Hurst Schoonover, Becky Hurst and Jewel Hurst Phillips; special niece, Tina Fitzgerald and special cousin, Michael Ramey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SPCA of Franklin County.
