Jack Ray Johnson

Jack Ray Johnson, 83, of Youngsville, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Transitions LifeCare, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Hanover County, North Carolina, to the late Lewis and Edna Lee Johnson. He attended Turkey School in Turkey, NC, Taylor's Bridge High School, Ingold, NC and later pursued studies at NC State and earned an associate's degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College. 

In 1969, Jack began his career in the dental industry, specializing in office design and equipment sales. After 38 years in the dental business with various companies, he retired with Patterson Dental.

Jack had a deep appreciation for vintage Ford cars. He owned several throughout the years and loved taking them to car shows to share them with others. In addition to his love of Ford cars, he enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects and could fix almost anything. 

Jack was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church for 52 years, where he served as a deacon, deacon chair and held various committee positions, including corporate officer of the church, and more recently, a member of Franklinton Baptist Church. His faith and commitment to the church were integral parts of his life. Jack was a kind and gentle man and always greeted anyone he met with a genuine smile.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice Paul Johnson; daughters, Paula Johnson Carter and husband Philip of Youngsville, and Johnna Johnson Stephenson and husband Rich of Youngsville; grandsons, Steven Thomas Eaddy and Michael Joseph Eaddy, both of Raleigh; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; his very special cat, Happy; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joseph Marion Eaddy; brothers, Harry Johnson and Durwood Johnson.
