Janet Allen Jones, 60, of Wake Forest, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, peacefully at her home. Born on April 26, 1963, in Durham County to the late Harold Ray Allen, Sr. and Hazel Rebecca Pleasants. Janet dedicated over 16 years of her life to the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Her commitment and hard work made her a respected member of the postal service family.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Janet's warmth and kindness extended far beyond her professional life. She was a source of strength and comfort to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were the cornerstones of her relationships.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Charles Jones; children, Bradley Jones of Wake Forest, Crissy Riggan & husband Jimmy of Franklinton and C. Kevin Jones of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Landon Riggan and Garrett Riggan; brothers, Harold Ray "Buckeye" Allen Jr. & wife Connie of Youngsville, Terry Allen & wife Cathy of Louisburg; sisters, Sandra Allen of Franklinton, Deborah Underwood of Raleigh, Donna Kay Privette of Youngsville, Patricia Gomez & husband Mario of Zebulon; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Janet was preceded in death by her brothers Michael Allen, Wayne Allen, Ray Allen, Phillip Allen, and Baby Boy Allen, as well as her nephew, Bobby Privette.
A funeral service to celebrate Janet's life will be held at 11 o'clock on Thursday morning, January 11, 2024, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. The entombment will be privately held in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
