Judy Lorane Cook-James

Judy Lorane Cook-James, 77, of Wake Forest, passed away Saturday Morning, April 1, 2023, at WakeMed hospital. She was born in San Diego, California to the late Fay Hunt and Tad Cook. Mrs. Cook-James graduated with a Degree in Art from Long Beach State. She worked at Disneyland for 37 years in many capacities throughout the park during her career.

After retiring from Disney she married and later moved to Wake Forest, NC where she and her husband built their dream home. She enjoyed gardening, loving on their pets and exploring the state's coastal lighthouses.

Mrs. Cook-James is survived by her best friend and husband of 26 years, Phillip P. James; brother, Kris Cook of North Hills, California; niece Karianne Cook and her sons Dex & Joel of Canyon Lake, California, nephews Zachery & Jacob Cook of North Hills, California. She was preceded in death by her brother Timm Cook.

A celebration of Judy’s life was held at a later date at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Cook-James’ memory to Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4921 Six Forks, Raleigh, NC 27609.
