Justin Allen Bauserman

Justin Allen Bauserman, 40, of Wake Forest, passed away Sunday morning, October 17, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center.

Justin was born on September 17, 1981, in Hendersonville, TN. He was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) at two months of age. As a young child, he lived with his family in several states, including Tennessee, Indiana, and Louisiana. In 1991, his family moved back to Indiana (Indianapolis). Because of lung complications from CF, Justin received a living-related lung transplant in 1994 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. In 2000, he graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School (Fishers, IN), where he was an honor student and an active member of the marching band. He attended Wabash College (Crawfordsville, IN) and graduated in 2004 with a Liberal Arts degree. In 2006, he graduated from Indiana State University (Terre Haute, IN) with a Master's in English. After graduation in May of 2006, Justin married the love of his life, Stefanie. As an English instructor at Ivy Tech Community College (Indianapolis, IN) for several years, Justin shared his love of words and books with his students. Justin began pursuing a doctorate in English at Ball State University (Muncie, IN) in 2007. However, after the birth of his daughters, he chose to be a stay-at-home “daddy.” His love for his family was obvious to all who knew him. In 2019 he and his family moved to North Carolina where he received his second lung transplant at Duke. Justin was a fighter who bravely battled through two lung transplants without complaint. Justin was a caring and giving person who loved God and his family with all his heart. He was always thinking of others before himself, and his belief in God sustained him to his last breath. Justin lived a remarkable life in his 40 years. His faith and love are an inspiration to all of us. We will always love you, Justin.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Justin is survived by his wife of 15 years, Stefanie Fromme Bauserman; daughters, Elle Kaylynn Bauserman(8) and Clara Loren Bauserman(5); father & mother, Jim & Kathy Snyder Bauserman of Indianapolis, IN; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Fred & Janel Fromme of Wake Forest, NC; sister, Amanda Bauserman Sanders of Indianapolis, IN; many extended family members and friends.
