Latisha Jefferson, 48, of Wake Forest, NC, a beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Jefferson was born in Newark, New Jersey, on January 5, 1976, to the late Carol Ann Jefferson and King Harris.
Raised in Victoria, Texas, Latisha later moved back to New Jersey with her family before settling in North Carolina in 2018, where she met her husband, David. She obtained her formal education in New Jersey, earning her associate degree in science and later attending Seton Hall University. In North Carolina, she worked as an HR specialist and later with Wake County Public Schools, making a positive impact on the lives of many students.
Latisha was profoundly dedicated to her children, Shawn and Torri, and they were the essence of her life. She loved spending time with her family, exploring new cuisines, vacationing, taking walks on the beach, reading, and above all, she treasured her time with the Lord.
As an active member of New Jerusalem Church in Wendell, Latisha valued her time with her church family. Her love and joy enriched the lives of those around her, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Powell; her children, Shawn Mcleod and Torri Tillery, both of Wake Forest, whom she loved dearly; her sister, Amanda Barnes; and her extended family. Latisha is also survived by her beloved church family, who held a special place in her heart.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Jerusalem Church, 6025 Riley Hill Rd, Wendell, NC 27591.
