Linda Stack Rigda, 78, of Wake Forest, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Born in Saginaw on September 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Edmund August Stack and Juanita Marie Erney Stack.
Linda graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1965. In 1967, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Rigda, and together they began a life of adventure and devotion to family. Bob’s service in the United States Navy allowed them the opportunity to live in Norfolk, Virginia, before later moving to Jacksonville, Florida, where their daughter Nancy was born.
After dedicating herself to raising her family, Linda began a career that reflected her caring and faithful nature. She worked with H&R Block, later with St. Raphael Catholic Church, and eventually retired from Automated Church Systems after many years of dedicated service.
Linda will be remembered for her love of family, her quiet strength, and the kindness she shared with those around her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday morning, May 18, 2026 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert “Bob” Rigda; her children, Nanette Rigda Merritt & husband Aaron of Wake Forest and Nolan Rigda & wife Chandra of Raleigh; son-in-law, Eric Rapp of Franklinton; grandchildren, Jasmine Rapp, Kaylee Rigda, Dakota Rigda, Justin Rigda, Carter Merritt, and Bowman Merritt; sister, Sharon Stack of Saginaw, Michigan; and brother, Walker Stack & wife Michelle of Bay City, Michigan; extended family and friends.
