Linda Holman Hargesheimer, 82, of Raleigh, formerly of North Monmouth, Maine, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 13, 2025, at Sunrise at North Hills.
She was born in Gary, Indiana, to the late Robert and Ruth Harlan Holman. Linda earned her bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University. After a brief stint teaching after college, her vibrant personality and creativity drew her into many diverse endeavors throughout her life. Linda’s passion for service led her to many years of volunteer work with the local United Way of Androscoggin County and Tri-County Mental Health, where she championed mental health awareness. She also spent time working at LL Bean & WMTW-ABC and appeared regularly in IGA television commercials for years.
Linda was an exceptional singer, longtime soloist & member of church choir groups, most recently at Winthrop United Methodist Church. She also took on several musical lead roles in community theater productions. She wrote and published a book “The Letter of Love” and a song “Love, Unconditional Love” (which can still be found on YouTube & Spotify).
Nothing could surpass Linda’s boundless love for her family. Linda’s determined enthusiasm burned brightly in her tireless efforts to nurture those she held dear. As a devoted wife and mother, she poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming home.
Linda’s adventurous spirit led her to extensive international travels, where she explored the ethereal, historical, and natural wonders of the world with dear friends and her husband Philip. Her passionate wanderlust for exploring the world still endures today with her children & grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Philip Kent Hargesheimer; her son, Kent Robert Hargesheimer & wife Lisa of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren, Alexis Ann Hargesheimer and Lindsey Wilson Hargesheimer, both of Wake Forest, NC and Evan Jameson Hargesheimer and Jason Robert Hargesheimer, both of Melbourne, FL; brother, Gerald Robert Holman & wife Susan of Gibsonia, PA; nephew, Jonathan Holman of State College, PA; and extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Derek James Hargesheimer.
