Louis Nicholas "Lou/Grumpy" Kulaga, 77, of Wake Forest, formerly of Perry Hall, Maryland, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on July 19, 1946, in Baltimore City to the late Louis and Marie Skwirut Kulaga, Louis led a fulfilling life marked by dedication and love for his family.
Louis retired as a Sergeant after 30 years of honorable service with the Baltimore City Police Department. His commitment to duty was matched by his devotion to his loved ones. Following retirement, he remained active with various jobs and hobbies, always finding joy in spending time with his family, whom he cherished deeply and for whom he would do anything.
A celebration of Louis's life will be held at 2 o'clock on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Wake Forest United Methodist Church. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the church. A service will also be held in Maryland at a later date, to be announced by the family.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Bloodsworth Kulaga; his children, Becky Kulaga Bradley & husband Doug of Wake Forest, and Matt Kulaga & wife Emily of Forest Hill, Maryland; his cherished grandchildren, Mikayla Bradley, Andy Bradley, Ava Kulaga, and Aubree Kulaga; his brother, Paul Kulaga, Sr. & wife Marlene of Forest Hill, Maryland; and extended family and friends.
