Margot Lisa Weimann Obituary

Margot Lisa Weimann, 86, of Wake Forest, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at WakeMed.

Margot was born on May 13, 1939, in Berlin, Germany, to Ferdinand and Else Butterbrodt. She grew up alongside her beloved siblings, Eveline Bernhardt and Detlef Butterbrodt. In 1959, at the age of 20, Margot courageously immigrated to the United States, embracing a new life full of hope and opportunity.

Later that same year, on the Fourth of July, she married the love of her life, Horst Weimann. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Their son, Robert, was born on October 12, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1967, the family purchased their first home in Des Plaines, Illinois, though a historic blizzard delayed their move. Margot began her professional career at GTE, where she worked as a proofreader and supervisor in the phone book division. She was known for her attention to detail and steady leadership.

After retiring, Margot and Horst relocated to Vero Beach, Florida, in 1997, where they enjoyed the warmth of the sun and the next chapter of their lives. Margot delighted in her hobbies—cooking traditional meals, counted cross-stitching, hand crafting, and playing board games with friends and family.

In 2015, Margot became a proud grandmother at the age of 76, a role she cherished deeply. In 2022, she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, to be closer to her family and spend more precious time with them.

Margot's warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones will be remembered always. She is survived by her devoted son, Robert(Cristiana), cherished grandson, Nolan, and a host of friends and family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She and her husband were members of  Redeemer Lutheran Church while living in Vero Beach, FL and services will be held at the church at 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 12, 2025. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium next to her husband.
