Martha Sue Whitaker Sanderford

Martha Sue Whitaker Sanderford, 64, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Martha Sue was born on September 10, 1961, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Mark and Helen Seals Whitaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Randall Whitaker, and a sister, Catherine Whitaker Farmer.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, John (Jack) Sanderford. Also surviving are her twin brother, Mark Whitaker, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Harlan, KY. two sisters, Barbara Fishel and husband, James, of Garner, NC and Joyce Birman, of Lynch, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Matthew Reese officiating.
