Mary Jean Boyd, 73, of Raleigh, passed away Monday evening, July 20, 2020 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born on April 20, 1947 in Tampa, Florida to the late Armando Rodriguez and Eneida Parra Rodriguez.
Mary spent most of her career working for Mitchell's Distributing Company in North and South Carolina. After her retirement, you would find her painting in her makeshift art studio. She had a love of cooking for both her family and friends. Her specialty dishes included her incredible empanadas, caldo gallego, and Cuban boliche. Mary often enjoyed soaking in the beauty and nature of her backyard surroundings especially her koi pond, an assortment of flowers, and wild birds. She had a love for animals which was passed down onto all three of her children. She loved doting over her grandchildren and spoiling them whenever she got the chance. Her absence will create a void in the lives of everyone she touched.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her husband Wayne Boyd, children, Jim Warren of Plant City, FL, Sommer Warren of Orlando, FL; Sabrina Mayton & husband Spencer of Wake Forest, Trisha Jones of Zebulon and Mark Boyd of Wake Forest; eight grandchildren; one sister and two brothers.
