Milagros "Millie" Murgia, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Duke University Hospital.
Born on January 9, 1949, in New York, New York, Millie was the daughter of the late Luz Maria Nales Ruiz and Vicente Ruiz. Millie enjoyed life sharing her vibrant personality, playing Mahjong, love for cooking, and maintained a commitment to her faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 29, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
Millie is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Murgia; children, Arturo “Artie” Andino & wife Andrea Andino of Selma, North Carolina, and Milagros “Millie” Andino-Tyson & husband Stefan Tyson of Wake Forest, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hans and Adriana Tyson, and Dennis and Marisa Andino; sister, Roxanna Rivera & husband Manuel Rivera of Puerto Rico; sister-in-law, Georgia Ruiz of New Jersey; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Memorial contributions may be made to Duke Cancer Center.
