Nancee Carol Little Obituary

Nancee Carol Little, 82, of Louisburg, formerly of Morganton, passed away Wednesday morning November 30, 2022 at Rex Hospital.

Nancee was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from Broughton High School and Western Piedmont Community College.  She worked for the NC Department of Corrections for over 20 years.

Nancee was the youngest of seven children and the daughter of Mildred Elizabeth Volz Brown and William Matthew Brown. She lost a brother, William, when he was 5 years old to a penicillin reaction. She lost her father to a sudden heart attack when she was just a baby.

Nancee’s siblings include three brothers and their wives: Kenneth and(Ida) Brown, Albert and(Frances) Brown, and Russell and (Laura) Brown. Her sisters and their husbands were Bettye and (Paul) Sarokin, and Helene and (TD) Womble. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Brown, two sons Mark Little and Matthew Little, and grandsons Eli and Noah Little. She has many nieces and nephews: Alan, Brian, Cynthia, Tracy, Barry, Lisa, Bill, Paula, and Karen. She has many great-nieces and nephews.

She spent many days after her retirement in the Atlanta suburbs, driving back and forth from North Carolina to be with her grandsons Noah and Eli. Like most grandparents, she loved them dearly. She had a sweatshirt made with a picture of them and wore it proudly.  She recounted numerous stories about those times throughout her life.

Nancee had a great sense of humor, was extremely loyal, and was very generous, especially with loved ones.  When she could no longer live alone, she lived with Matthew in Louisburg, NC. He provided her with a computer room, workout room, a big yard, and plenty of groceries.  She loved being there with him and his dogs and looked forward to watching Mark’s dogs when he was out of town for work.  Mark was fortunate to see her more often over the last 18 months since moving back home to NC. Nancee especially loved cakes and pies, watching programs on her tablet, and daily naps.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” – Revelations 21.4
