Alex Gomes, 56, of Youngsville, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. He was born in Bangladesh, but spent 45 years of life in Queens and upstate New York. Alex brought warmth, strength, and joy to all who knew him.
Alex had a passion for music, loved fishing, and enjoyed camping. He would always have a guitar with him and would play whenever he liked. He has built several boats over the years and one also that could be taken apart in 3 pieces and put together before using it. Whether through his playing guitar and singing, or a thoughtfully prepared meal, Alex shared himself with others in ways that were both heartfelt and unforgettable. He had a special passion for the San Antonio Spurs. He was often found sharing laughter, good advice, and meaningful conversations with those around him.
Alex will be missed as a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was survived by his wife of 15 years, Julia, son, Joshua, mother, Regina, and siblings, Nirmal, Bina, Reena, Ranu, Kajol, and many friends. Alex was preceded in death by his father, Joachim Gomes.
Family and friends may visit for viewing from 10 AM-12 PM on Friday, April 25th, 2025 at the Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home,1051 Durham Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587 followed by a funeral mass at 2 PM on Friday April 25th at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church 2227 NC-39 N, Louisburg, NC 27549 and then followed by his final resting place at the Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 NC-561, Louisburg, NC 27549. The family will hold a dinner after the cemetery service at Faith Baptist Church, 249 Holden Rd, Youngsville, NC 27596. - ROOM 214 at 5PM.
