Peggy Sue Lackey

Peggy Sue Roueche Lackey, 77, of Statesville, North Carolina passed away May 12, 2018, at Transitions Lifecare in Raleigh surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Grover Lackey; daughter, Stephanie Krueger and husband, Kurt, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Benjamin Kurt and Emily Susanna; brother, John Edward Roueche II of Austin, Texas.

Sue was born in Iredell County, North Carolina to the late John Edward and Mary Grace Harris Roueche.  She was a caretaker at heart and split her time in retirement between her home in Statesville and Raleigh in order to be closer to her greatest passion, her grandchildren.

A celebration of Sue’s life followed by visitation with the family was held at 6 o’clock, Thursday evening, May 17, 2018 at Oakdale Baptist Church located at 585 Mocksville Highway, Statesville, North Carolina.  A graveside service was held at 11 o’clock, Friday morning, May 18, 2018 at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565 or to the Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
