Phillip Morton “Phil” Arrington, Jr., 64, of Wake Forest, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at WakeMed Hospital. He was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Phillip M. Arrington, Sr. and Doris Reese Arrington on January 12, 1957. Phil was also preceded in death by his son, Cody Nelson Arrington.
Phil was a self-taught satellite engineer who started and ran his own business, ARS Communications. He commercially installed satellite dishes across the east coast in the 80s and 90s. He also worked for UNC-TV for 12 years as a field satellite engineer. Phil had an avid love for music and guitar, particularly southern rock. He enjoyed walking in nature and spending time on the lake. Phil loved his family fiercely and unconditionally.
A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587. The family request face coverings and social distancing during this sensitive time.
Phil is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sharon Alt Arrington; children, Mike Arrington of Durham and James Arrington of Raleigh; step-children, Amanda Villari & husband Joe of Raleigh and Forrest Corbett of Asheville; grandchildren, Everly Arrington, Charlotte Arrington-Neal and Sage Villari; sisters, Donna Williams and Pam McFerrin both of Bracey, VA; extended family and friends.
