Randall Ross "Randy" Perry, 74, a resilient entrepreneur and beloved family man, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 19, 2024, at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was born on November 12, 1949, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the late Arthur and Beatrice (Barros) Perry. Mr. Perry's adventurous spirit led him to many ports as a merchant marine and up and down the East Coast where he thrived as a business owner. He tackled each endeavor with determination and passion.
Randy found joy in playing cards with his wife, staying informed about current events and was often seen reading or watching the news. He was an avid sports enthusiast, finding pleasure in watching any game or match. However, his most cherished moments were the trips he took with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will endure through generations. Mr. Perry will be remembered fondly for his entrepreneurial spirit, his love for family, and his zest for life.
A private celebration of Randy's life will be held by family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jean Theresa (Jacques) Perry; daughters, Jennifer (Murphy) Boles of Raleigh and Shelley (Murphy) Thomas & husband Billy of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren, Nolan Ross Boles of Raleigh and Alexis Marie Jimenez of Clearwater, Florida; sister, Ruth Cox & husband Russell of New Port Richey, Florida; nieces & nephews, Heidi Mello, David Mello & wife Lisa, Raul Pina, and Carrie Pina. Randall was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Nolan David Boles, sister Donna Perry and brother Danny Perry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Durham Rescue Mission or towards planting trees in Randy's memory.
