Ronnie Layton “Ron” Johnson, 68, of Wake Forest, passed away, November 1, 2018. He is now eternal in Heaven after an extended illness. He was a native of Franklin County. A true southern gentleman, he greatly impacted all who knew and loved him for his genuine love and kindness. He was a General Contractor and worked for the city of Raleigh and Wake County as an inspector in the 80’s. His passions were driving heavy machinery, tractors, chicken on the grill, diet Pepsi and all fur babies. He was a man of great faith and integrity. He was quick-witted and always had a story to share. He will be greatly missed by many. His amazing heart and spirit will live on in those who loved him. Ron is survived by his daughters, Aaron Johnson Snider, Cassie Lynn Strong and Meghan Christine Strong; brothers, Steve Johnson, Timmy Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; sister, Sandra Macon; many nieces and nephews. His former wife and best friend of many years, Kelly Bombaro Johnson and her fiancé Linwood Young. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin “Nick” Johnson and Maxine Layton Johnson.
