Ronnie Lee "Ron" McCook, 68, of Wake Forest, formerly of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at WakeMed Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1955, in Waycross, Georgia to the late George and Vienna Smith McCook.
Ron had a successful career in the signage industry, operating numerous companies throughout the Southeast, where he formed lasting connections and friendships. His impact on the industry and the lives of those around him will be cherished. Above all, Ron took great pride in his daughter Abigail, delighting in her achievements, especially in her involvement in ROTC.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, October 19, 2024, at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
Ron is survived by his wife, Wanda Eury McCook; daughters, Abigail McCook of the home and Shannon Marie Camp & husband Paul of Stockbridge, Georgia; step-daughters, Heather Martin of Wake Forest, Katrina Brooks & her husband Danny of Lewisville and Trudy Robertson of Wendell; sister, Robbie Crowle of Waycross, Georgia; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Danny and Buddy McCook.
