Sandra Kay Woodland

On May 20th, 2024, Sandra Kay Woodland went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 77. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be remembered for her fierce love for her family and passion for caring for others.

Mrs. Woodland was born in Dadesville, Missouri. Her family moved to Riverside California when she was just 3 years old where she grew up, married, raised her family and worked until moving in 2003 for retirement and to be near her daughter.

Her passion for helping others led her to work for the Department of Social Services and spent the latter part of her career developing systems to help Children’s Protective Services and Adult Protective Services.

Even though she retired in California, her voice to help others wasn’t ready to stop. She quickly returned to work with North Carolina’s State Board of Elections. After retiring a second time to help care for her grandchildren, she continued to volunteer, first serving as a Director for Franklin County Board of Elections followed by helping Westend Baptist’s Joy Club in the public schools and at their Vacation Bible School.

A celebration of Mrs. Woodlands Life will be held at 3 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2024 at West End Baptist Church, 619 Dabney Drive, Henderson NC 27536. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.

Sandra is survived by her adoring husband William Woodland, daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Douglas Donofrio; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Camille. One of eleven children, she is also survived by her sister Carol Woods, brothers Edward, James and Steven, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
