Shelvia Branch Strickland, 83, of Raleigh, passed away Friday morning at the Laurels of Forest Glenn. She was born in Sampson County, a daughter of the late Cecil and Esther Thornton Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Strickland and a son, Robert “Robbie” Lee Strickland, Jr.
Due to the Covid-19 virus, there will be a private family burial at the Memorial Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Bailey Howard of Smithfield; grandchildren, Crystal Clark (Gabe), Michelle Rackley (Joey), Nicole Cooper (Josh), Chris Howard (Maria) & Britney Howard; great-grandchildren, Noah Clark, Bayleigh & Cash Rackley, Andrew, MacKenzie & Kaitlyn Cooper, Vann, Leland & Grayson Howard; sisters, Cecile Jackson of Dunn, Peggy Lee (Harold) of Newton Grove, Phillis Haas of Dunn and Vicky Dudley of Dunn.
