Obituary
Theresa Rita Massa, 91, of Wake Forest, passed away on April 3, 2023. She was born in Manhattan, New York to the late Anthony Massa and Angela Calamari Massa. She was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Domenica Uhrig (Willi), Catherine Kchop (Chester), and Andrew Massa (Mildred).
Ms. Massa lived in Manhattan, New York with her mother until her mother’s death in 1979. After her mother’s death, Ms. Massa moved to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to live with and be cared for by her sister, Domenica, and brother-in-law, Willi. For many years, Ms. Massa traveled along with her sister and brother-in-law to Boynton Beach and Ft. Pierce, Florida to spend time in the winter. After her sister’s death in 2003, Ms. Massa lived with and was cared for by her nephew, William Uhrig and niece, Sandra. Ms. Massa traveled with her nephew and niece to visit family in North Carolina often. Ms. Massa enjoyed sewing, doing household chores, putting together jigsaw puzzles, sitting outside, going for walks, doing yard work, riding her stationary bike, and singing.
A private service will be held at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Ms. Massa is survived by her nephews, William Uhrig and Anthony Massa, her nieces, Catherine Fish and Susan Doane, and many great-nieces and nephews.
