Timothy William Smith

Timothy William Smith, 79, of Wake Forest, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Born on January 10, 1945, in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Henry and Ruth Baker Smith.

Mr. Smith proudly served in the United States Navy, dedicating many years to his country before embarking on a successful career as a machinist. He worked for Moog in East Aurora, New York, for 25+ years and later founded his own company, Advan-Tech, in Orchard Park, New York, where he worked for an additional 10+ years.

In his youth, Timothy enjoyed riding horses in rodeos and his 4-H club.  Later in life, he became involved with horse racing with his siblings. He spent his later years excelling in the role of grandpa.

All are welcome to join us for a prayer service at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2024,  at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. A celebration of Timothy's life will be held next spring in Western New York.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters, Laura (Donald) Smith of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Paula (Matthew) Ward of Raleigh; sons, Daniel (Kari) Smith of Savannah, Georgia, and Matthew Smith of Jamestown, New York;  grandchildren, Michael, Brady, Maggie, Daphne, Harper, Nathan, Amanda, Hannah, Karalyn, Addison, Tori, Cyan, and Sydney; siblings, Donald, Patricia Martin, David, Kenneth, Janet, Herbie, and Kathleen Opera. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nick and Charles. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
