William E. McCallum, Sr.

William Edward McCallum, Sr., 91, of Wake Forest, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at William M. Dunlap Center for Caring. He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Hubert Alton McCallum, Sr. and Pauline Livingood McCallum.

Mr. McCallum graduated from Harding High School where he was a gifted football & baseball player.  After high school, he faithfully & honorably served his country in the United States Navy. In 1954 he began his 37-year career with the Eastman Kodak Company. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others when he could. His presence will be greatly missed but his spirit will continue on through everyone that knew him.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 26, 2020 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 2124 Oak Grove Church Rd. Youngsville, NC followed by the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.

Mr. McCallum is survived by his children, William E. McCallum, Jr. & wife Pam of Garner, Cindy McCallum & husband David Holbrook of Wake Forest and Robert A. McCallum & wife Sharon of Raleigh; grandchildren, Erin McCallum Stewart, Travis Johnson, Chris Newcomb, Billy Newcomb, Tonya Newcomb, Robbie McCallum, Paul McCallum, Chad McCallum and Lindsay McCallum; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Glenn McCallum, Judy Pinkard & husband Jerry and David McCallum all of Charlotte; Preceded by his wife, Barbara Earnhardt McCallum; siblings, Hubert Alton McCallum, Jr., Marion Heath and James McCallum.
