Williamean Creekmore Womble

Williamean Creekmore Womble, 95, of Wake Forest, peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, July 25, 2024, at Universal Healthcare/North Raleigh. She was born on May 8, 1929, in Nash County, North Carolina, to the late James and Hattie Mullens Creekmore.

Mrs. Womble was a dedicated professional who began her career with Southern Bell as an operator, witnessing and adapting through the company's transitions until her retirement after 40 years of service at AT&T. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her loyalty to her family and community.

Outside of her career, Mrs. Womble cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons Wesley Womble of Wake Forest, Phil Womble & wife Betsy of Franklinton, and James Womble & wife Denia of Wake Forest; grandchildren Kevin Womble, Kelly Stallings, Amy Hunt, and Katie Griffin, as well as her sister Josephine Edwards of Spring Hope and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday morning, July 27, 2024, at the Falls Community Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the cemetery immediately following the service.
