John was my trainer at Cisco in 2008 in Raleigh. He was an amazing teacher and a great friend. He definately loved his students. He definately impacted my life in more ways than one. Our last conversation was on July 27th and it was a great one. We miss you JB!! You have left a mark on us!

I never had the chance to meet this man, only seen him on Facebook with Jodie. The look of joy and happiness that he brought to her was evident in her face. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. I know he will be missed. My condolences go out to Jodie, his family and friends. Rest easy big John

I will never forget John's vivacious personality and knack for teaching as our lives crossed paths with me being a new college graduate in training at Cisco back in 2004. He was a great teacher who shaped many career paths and we spent nearly every M-F with him for 6 months! To Sydney; he would talk about you frequently and I am very sorry for you and your family's loss. Words cannot describe how shocked I was to hear John is no longer here. He will be greatly missed.

John was my trainer, teacher and friend in the Cisco ASE program. I don't think he knew what an impact he had on people. He shaped many of our careers and lives and taught us to have fun while learning, be kind to one another and always made us feel at ease in stressful situations. He never took things to seriously and always enjoyed the moment. I remember his fun spirited sayings like "howdy ho neighbors" every time we walked through the door. He was a true gem and we are so lucky to have spent many months with him every day. I will never forget him. I pray for his family, daughter and fiancAC.e for them to garner as much strength as they can to get through this difficult time. Will miss him and may he RIP.

John or SSGT Barnes is who my military mind thinks of is stuck in 1997, he helped me to become a great leader by his example. He inspired me on his relationship with his daughter, fitness, and his professional career. You had such a great impact on this world few people can have the same said about them. It is with profound sadness that I will never meet this sweet Prince who treated my dear friend like such a queen and showered her with love. I know I, too, would have loved him, as evidently did many. He lived a wonderful life, had a beautiful daughter and traveled the world with his love. He still had much to do I imagine. Gone far too soon. My deepest sympathies to you, Jody and his dear family. I am so sorry.
